ellos. is there something wrong with blogger? the new post looks weird on my computer...

anw, there's no holiday on 11AUG, tuesday!=( My eyes must have been playing tricks on me...

I just realised Oral presentation is in about 8 or 9 weeks time...time really flies. and PW WILL BE OVER! WAHAHA.

And I wonder....I thought there was pilot test on wednesday? I didnt notice any group displaying their strategies...weird.

oh wells. I am random and weird. Shall go off to sleep. The CO people must be having lots of fun at the esplanade.lollie.

Class Chalet

Anyone interested in year-end class chalet? I'm thinking of putting it 1-2days after our Oral Presentation for PW. Opinions please! Like which chalet, how long(3D2N?) etc.

Prove that 2=1

: let a = b

: a² = ab : Multiply both sides by a

: a² + a² - 2ab = ab + a² - 2ab : Add (a² - 2ab) to both sides
:
: 2(a² - ab) = a² - ab : Factor the left, and collect like terms on the right

:cancel the common factor from both sides

Hence 2=1

In case you all are wondering how to solve the maths question given by mr chow, here is the answer from the Net. Enjoy.^^
Prove that sum of all angles in a triangle is equal to 180 degrees.

Since lines a and b are parallel, <)BAC = <)B'CA and <)ABC = <)BCA'. It is obvious that <)B'CA + <)ACB + <)BCA' = 180 degrees. Thus <)ABC + <)BCA + <)CAB = 180 degrees. Prove that 9.99999[recurring forever] is equal to 10 Method 1 (chim version)

9.999999.....
= 9 + 9/10 + 9/100 + 9/1000 + ......
This is an infinite geometric series

Recall that the sum of an infinite geometric series is a/(1-r) where 'a' is the first term and 'r' is the common ratio.

In this case
a = 9
r = 1/10

Sum = 9/(1-(1/10))
= 9/(9/10)
= 10

9.99999.... = 10

Method 2 (simpler version)
x = 9.99999.....
10x = 99.99999......
10x = 90 + 9.99999.....
10x = 90 + x
9x = 90
x = 10

Method 3 (simplest version)
10/3=3.33333
3.33333*3=9.999999
10/3*3=3.333333*3
Thus, 10=9.9999[recurring forever]

Calculate sqrt(6+sqrt(6+sqrt(6+.....))))))
let x=sqrt(6+sqrt(+sqrt(6+....)))))
sqrt(6+sqrt(6+sqrt(6+....)))))=sqrt(6=Sqrt(6+sqrt(6+.....)))))
sqrt(6+x)=x
6+x=x^2
x^2-x-6=0
(x-3)(x+2)=0
therefore x=3 or x=-2

Mathematical proving....

Mathematic proof that Women are evil

first, we state that women require time and money:

Women = time * money

...and as we all know, "time is money":

Time = Money

...and therefore:

Women = Money * Money = (Money)^2

...and because "Money is the root of all evil":

Money = sqrt(evil)

...therefore:

Women = (sqrt[evil])^2

...and we are forced to conclude that:

Women = Evil




men = time x money x girls x sex

And as we all know “time is money”

time = money

Therefore

men = money x money x girls x sex

And we all know men want girls as many as possible

Because they want to have sex as many as they can

For them : girls = sex

As for men’s proof that “girls are evil”

girls = evil

So…..evil = sex

Therefore

men = money2 x evil x evil

men = money2 x evil2

And because “money is the root off all evil”

money = √evil

Therefore

some of u may be feeling a little down becoz you may have "superman-ed"(quoted from amanda's dictionary of words for subpass) many of your tests or you may not have met your expectations. but i think failing is kind of part of the learning process. moreover, this is also our first major jc exams so dun take it too hard ba. at least now you know who you can look for help (e.g the smart person who does not want to admit he/she is smart XD)

had a blood test, don't think I have h1n1.

had slight fever for about 2 weeks. even if i really had(choy!), some of our classmates would have been ill by now. btw, doc says that 37.5 is FEVER.

look on the bright side.

hey CG14/09! liyin's here to show you that it's really not that bad.

Although JCT is TEN PERCENT, our class participation takes up TEN PERCENT TOO!

this means that if we want to be promoted, we got to be more proactive during lessons so as to get as much as we can for that TEN PERCENT. Doesn't life seem better now?=D

IN ADDITION, our class isn't actually the worst. Our Olvl results have proved that we have the potential to do BETTER. So lets stretch this potential and do our BEST, okay?=D perhaps we can have study sessions as a class or something. There would be a great sense of achievement if everyone does well for promos and get promoted as a class!=D

SO LETS AIM FOR THAT! lets get promoted as a class.=D

i think, my dear friends, we need a little encouragement (:

the JCTs are over, and we're now facing results and everything. to those who did well for their JCTs, great job peeps! now we know who to look for when we need help with our schoolwork and things like that. (; keep up the good work yeah?

and to the rest of us - even though our results may not be what we expected, or just seem to make us feel really upset with ourselves and stuff, this isn't the end! in life we'll always face our ups and downs. this, would just be one of our downs. just know that there'll always be people who are there for you. and never be afraid to ask questions! it isn't a sign that says "i'm stupid". its a sign that says "i don't know this, but i'm interested to know." lets just leave our JCT results behind, as a reminder to spur us on towards promos okay? its not all over. remain optimistic! and my dearest friends, always remember i love you. (:

No, this is not an emo post LOL.

We have just gotten back JCTs, many with not-so-good results. Well, like what MsSim said, take it as a lesson learnt(oh my PW), and don't remain sad for long, it really isn't good for health. Move on, and start paying attention in lectures and tutorials hahah.

dilemma

If i am given the chance to time travel back to about three or four months ago, i will not hesitate to do so. I regretted making some decisions then. I do not know if i will be making the same decision again. I do not know if my decision to change my mind is correct or not, but I certainly do not want the I-did-something-wrong feeling to keep disturbing me. If i am granted the chance to travel back in time but not to where i was 3 or 4 months ago then i will choose to travel back to last friday. I want to go bbq again on sat. I want to feel smth again.

thanks so much for all the birthday wishes. thanks to the barbecue yesterday [that lasted till the beginning of today] ive had a truly awesome day today, starting right from midnight :D thanks liyin, for posting up the "post-mortem" hahah. and yeah, a huge thank you to sianlin's parents for their kind hospitality and the awesome beehoon :D oh oh oh, and for starting the fire. hahah. we really must learn how to start a nice fire.

THE BBQ AT SIAN LIN'S HOUSE.

class bbq today!

fifteen ppl turned up! ariel, amanda, daphne, brenda, yeeling, sianlin, ting, chang yi, wenkai, cheryl, joseph, lee chuang, tseng yi, wang rui and liyin.

edrea, erica, swan ser, han, waygene, wenya, dewi, angie, jhin jieh and grace were unable to make it, many whom were unable to make it on the first bbq at ariel's house too.=(

it's 2.30am. brenda, amanda, yeeling and liyin are staying up at sian lin's house. the rest are playing bridge while liyin is using the com. liyin's in a semi-conscious state.

yep! 5th july is ting's birthday! couldn't buy a cake because she's allergic to cream.=( hope she had enjoyed the first few minutes of her birthday with us, haha.
